Hong Kong Red Swastika Society Building

Located at No. 25 Dragon Road, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong Red Swastika Society Building was completed in 1940 as the headquarter of the philanthropic organisation and started to provide free services of general medicine, ophthalmology and dental clinic to citizens.

The three-storey building built in Chinese Renaissance style with Art Deco and Modernist influences adopted one of the most prevalent styles of modern buildings in South China region designed by Chinese architects trained overseas in the 1930s.

The building of symmetrical layout features three tall narrow arched windows recesses in the centre with ornamental balconies, and matching balconies on either side on the front façade. Besides having a richly decorated Chinese-style pavilion, Nam Kwong Pavilion, on the roof, the internal area of the building is also lavishly ornamented with Chinese geometrical patterns and motifs.

Hong Kong Red Swastika Society Building was accorded with Grade 1 Historic Building status by the Antiquities Advisory Board in 2024.
