The Chinese University of Hong Kong Art Museum

The Lo Kwee Seong Pavilion of the Art Museum at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) was awarded the “Medal of the Year” by the Hong Kong Institute of Architects Awards 2025 (HKIA Awards). The new Lo Kwee Seong Pavilion’s form resembles the peaks of the Lingnan region’s mountains and integrates itself into the natural landscape and topography of CUHK. Connecting to the Museum’s original galleries, the University Avenue and the University Mall, it is a new artistic and cultural landmark at CUHK. Its structural, V-column implies the concepts of heritage and support, or “承” in Chinese. The facade was designed using formlining fairfaced concrete, meaning that it was embossed using specially created formwork in a unique pattern, with varying depths and densities of lines and grooves.

Guided Tour Meeting Arrangements

Open House Hong Kong volunteers will greet participants at two meeting points. One volunteer will welcome participants at University Station Piazza, outside Exit A of MTR University Station, and lead a 15-minute walk to the Art Museum. Another volunteer will wait at the Art Museum entrance along the University Mall at CUHK. Please select your preferred meeting point when registering, and note that meeting times differ between the two locations.

Visitor Guidelines

• Please do not use flash or tripods when taking photos. Kindly observe the photography rules of each gallery.
• Please keep your voice down to maintain a quiet and comfortable environment within the museum.
• Eating and drinking are strictly prohibited inside the museum.
• Please do not touch, move, or lean on the exhibits, or tap on the display cases.
• To prevent accidents, please do not run or play in the galleries.
• On rainy days, please place your umbrella in an umbrella bag or on the umbrella rack provided at the entrance.
