WWF Peter Scott Visitor Centre

The WWF Peter Scott Visitor Centre opened its doors in 2023. Through a series of upscaling and renovation projects, it transformed from a nature reserve into a “nature classroom”. After renovations, more space is available for accommodation and training, promoting dialogues and interactions with nature. Sustainable development is at the core of the construction process; sustainable materials were used in the environmentally-aware design. Bamboo and FSC-certified wood are used for the majority of the interior design, which optimises air circulation. The high ceilings and the sparse palette of the building gives generous daylight, while reducing its environmental footprint. Modular bamboo seating sculptures bring a warm environmental appeal to the building. To know more about how the architect blends interior design with the environment outside, come and join the tour!

*Remarks on “Exploring Mai Po”:

  1. The “Exploring Mai Po” tour is a paid activity organized by the venue and is not part of the "Open House Hong Kong" programme. Interested participants must register and pay for the tour separately via the aforementioned website.
  2. Round-trip shuttle service is included in the “Exploring Mai Po” package. However, if you plan to join “Exploring Mai Po” and also participate in the "Open House Hong Kong" guided tour on the same day of 30 Nov, participants must arrange their own transportation upon leaving the venue.
  3. Participants who want to join the “Exploring Mai Po” eco visit, it is suggested to join the 09:30 tour, and join the first session of “Open House Hong Kong” guided tour.
  4. If there are insufficient participants, the Centre will arrange a new date and notify the registered participants.
