Exploring Sham Shui Po: A Journey Through Design and Architecture

Photographer Chan Kit, one of the members of this year's "Open House Hong Kong" organizing committee and the author of “Knowhere Hong Kong” and “Knowhere Travel”, will lead a tour through Sham Shui Po.

The tour will begin with a visit to the Material Library within the DX Design Hub, which houses more than 1,500 types of special, unique, and innovative materials. Participants will then ascend a renovated pre-war tenement building (Tong Lau) to explore its original architectural aesthetics and engage with its current users. The guided tour will also wind through the bustling streets of Sham Shui Po, uncovering fascinating designs hidden among the hawker stalls.
