Exploring Sham Shui Po: A Journey Through Design and Architecture

Photographer Chan Kit, one of the members of this year's "Open House Hong Kong" organizing committee and the author of “Knowhere Hong Kong” and “Knowhere Travel”, will lead a tour through Sham Shui Po.

The tour will first explore the Material Library within the DX design hub to view over 1,500 types of special, unique, and innovative materials. Participants will then ascend a renovated pre-war tenement building (Tong Lau) to examine its former architectural aesthetics and interact with its current users. The guided tour will also weave through the bustling streets of Sham Shui Po to rediscover fascinating designs hidden among the hawker stalls.
