Dialogue + Mini Book Fair: Let's Write About Architecture

SPEAKER
Jane Lei (arts practitioner, editor)
MODERATOR
Charles Lai (Open House Hong Kong Curatorial Committee member)
Over the past decade, architectural and urban studies have ceased to be the exclusive preserve of professionals. Alongside architects and academics, practitioners from a wide range of fields have taken up research and writing — from design analysis to visual documentation, historical investigation to urban observation — producing a wonderfully diverse body of work.
This programme is divided into two parts. In the Dialogue, we are delighted to welcome Jane Lei (J), an arts practitioner and editor who grew up in Macau and is now based in Taipei. She will share the remarkable journey that led her — inspired by the conservation movement for Macau's Hotel Estoril — to research the architect-artist Oseo Acconci and ultimately to write a book about him.
In the Mini Book Fair that follows, J and several other authors will exhibit their works, showcasing the rich possibilities of architectural writing. Do come along and support them in person!
The full list of participating authors will be announced shortly!
