Noii: arthouse sits inside a pre-war tong lau on Yee Kuk Street, Sham Shui Po. Designed in Neoclassical style, the building’s verandah is supported by two square Tuscan columns, with the corner post topped by Hong Kong’s oldest surviving bellflower carvings. In the 1980s, its previous owners, Mr. and Mrs. Suen opened Yick Ping Factory here and invited their friends to write bold red calligraphy advertisements across the white facade, a sight that grew into an iconic local streetscape. Following the factory’s closure in 2016, the second floor of the building was transformed into an independent art space in 2025. Hosting regular exhibitions, it keeps alive the building’s decades-long connection with art.
