Overlooking the historic Causeway Bay Typhoon Shelter, One Causeway Bay sits on a site steeped in heritage, formerly home to the Jardine sugar mills, shipyards, and the The Excelsior, a hotel remembered and missed by generations of Hong Kong people. Wrapped in a wave-like tempered glass façade, the tower echoes the shimmering waters of Victoria Harbour, as well as the rich maritime history of the city.

As a next-generation, human-centric workplace, One Causeway Bay prioritises the wellbeing of both its occupants and the surrounding community. To minimise disturbance to neighbouring residents, rigorous solar trajectory simulations were conducted on the façade, and a high-tech anti-glare coating was applied to reduce light pollution and glare. Driven by an ESG-centred vision of the future workplace, the design also integrates low-carbon concrete, green steel, FSC-certified timber and recycled materials – reducing embodied carbon emissions by 40%. Solar PV panels, rainwater harvesting and air-conditioning condensate recovery systems were installed to efficiently harness renewable energy and water resources. The rooftop, terrace and balcony greenery also create rejuvenating spaces for users.
