St. Stephen’s College

Founded in 1903, many buildings on the St. Stephen's College campus are classified as Graded Historic Buildings. In addition to the classical architecture of the old campus, the Special Room Block and Tang Shiu Kin Hall stand out as exceptional examples of modernist architecture. Completed in 1981, architect Tao Ho employed a stepped, trapezoidal design that integrates seamlessly with the terrain. The exposed structure interlocks with the rising brise soleil. Combined with the lush vegetation and reflecting pool, they create a harmonious balance between the brutal architectural aesthetic and nature. This guided tour will introduce Tao Ho's background and the ingenuity behind the Science and Arts Building and Tang Shiu Kin Hall, along with the overall architecture of the St. Stephen's College campus.
