Kowloon Bay Kongcept Tour: a Trace of Modern Living Dream

Walk Through 50 Years of Kowloon Bay

Telford Gardens and Amoy Gardens were benchmarks of the modern living dream in Hong Kong during the 1970s and 1980s. Telford Gardens pioneered Hong Kong's first Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) model, marking a crucial turning point in urban development with what was then the world's largest podium footprint. Amoy Gardens was among the early residential estates to introduce lift transfer designs in its lobby and featured a signature pedestrian food street, while also standing as an iconic estate that weathered the test of Hong Kong's first major epidemic, SARS. *As part of the tour, Hang Lung Archives will showcase a collection of valuable archival records and historical photographs, guiding participants through Kowloon Bay’s transformation over the past five decades and bringing to life the stories of change experienced by both the community and local businesses.
