The Public Art along Tuen Mun River

The public art project, ‘Viva! River’, invited six local artists—Chan Chun-yan, Chan Wan Kei, Law Hiu Teng, Wong Cheuk Kin, Ear Cooling House (Cheng Shuk Yee and Leung Ka Yin), and La Belle Époque (Ng Sze Kiu and Cheung Wai Man)—to inject new vitality into Tuen Mun, a town steeped in history and rich in local character.

The artists visited community spaces such as schools, shopping malls, parks, and housing estates, engaging in dialogue with diverse communities and gaining a deeper understanding of the local life. Through various collaborative efforts, they explored the vitality of public spaces through the lens of art and design. Tuen Mun's history and culture, as well as the residents' deep connection and imagination with their community, inspired the artists' artistic creations along the Tuen Mun River.
