LAI CHI WO
Along the coast of Sha Tau Kok lies the Hakka walled village of Lai Chi Wo, built against the sea and surrounded by mountains. With a history spanning over 300 years, Lai Chi Wo retains traditional Hakka architectural elements such as blue-brick walls, pitched roofs, and timber frame structures and features a structured layout consisting of over 200 symmetrically arranged village houses. In recent years, it has become a focal point for rural revitalisation. Modern sustainable designs integrated into the village, unfolding dialogues between traditional rural architecture and contemporary creative concepts.

JOCKEY CLUB STK ECO EIGHT RECYCLING AND ECOTOURISM EDUCATION CENTRE
Situated in Sha Tau Kok Chuen, Hong Kong's only public housing estate within the Frontier Closed Area, the Jockey Club STK Eco Eight Recycling and Ecotourism Education Centre embodies the principles of circular architecture and low-carbon construction. The centre was co-created by youth volunteers, professional architects, and local residents, and its design extensively utilises recycled materials and reclaimed timber. By combining traditional rural vernacular wisdom with contemporary sustainable design, it serves as a “community living room” that integrates recycling facilities, ecotourism resources, and sustainable lifestyle showcases. The space is currently managed by the Wu Zhi Qiao (Bridge to China) Charitable Foundation.
