North Point Methodist Church

To meet the growing need for space, the North Point Methodist Church (NPMC) — also known as the “Garage Church” and with a history of over 70 years — began the redevelopment of its original site in 2017. After seven years of planning and construction, a brand-new seven-storey church building has been completed and officially opened. The first worship service in the new sanctuary will be held on December 1, 2024.

The redevelopment project was led and designed by AGC Design Ltd. The architect’s concept draws inspiration from the vision of “a river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb through the middle of the city” — symbolizing divine grace and healing flowing through the community. As sunlight streams down the glass façade representing the River of Life, the imagery of “ever-living waters flowing deeper in the Lord’s love” is vividly brought to life — a metaphor for grace pouring out from the sanctuary to bless every corner of the street.

The guided tour will be led by Mr Ho Hon Yin, Chairman of the NPMC Redevelopment Committee, who will explain how the church’s architectural design expresses the eternal vision described in the Book of Revelation. The beauty of a church lies not merely in the precision of its plans or the dedication of its builders, but in the sacred moments of divine presence it embodies.
