Hamilton Street Rest Garden

Hamilton Street Rest Garden is located at the junction of Portland Street and Hamilton Street, with its main users including elders and ethnic minorities. The design concept draws inspiration from the Hong Kong tradition of “table sharing.” The large table is topped with cubes of varying heights, creating a sculptural surface that represents a map of the community and showcases the area's rich crafting culture, which has influenced the choice of materials used in the park. The park features an array of materials, including steel, copperware, and even wooden chopping boards. It facilitates a variety of activities, such as dining, reading, and socialising. A magnificent Chinese banyan tree stands tall in the garden, enhancing the view and providing a welcoming, shaded space for local residents to relax and enjoy.
