Fringe Club

Founded in 1983, Hong Kong's Fringe Club has been a vibrant arts hub for over 40 years. Its predecessor was the old Dairy Farm Cold Storage Depot—once a well-known landmark in Hong Kong. The building was later boarded up and faced demolition, before being renovated into the Fringe Club as it stands today. Currently, it provides exhibition and performance venues for local and overseas emerging and professional artists, and creates an open platform for them to showcase their works.

Committed to open access, the Fringe Club advocates for artistic freedom, integrating creativity and art appreciation into daily life. Food and drinks are also available on-site to encourage connections among visitors and creators. Housed in a repurposed 1890s colonial building, it has garnered notable recognition: it won the 2001 Hong Kong Heritage Award, was designated a Grade-1 heritage site in 2009, and received the 2018 HKICON Conservation Award.
