Wong Tai Sin and Lok Fu: Masterpieces in Everyday Spaces

Planner Oriol Bohigas remarked that a city is not merely the sum of its architecture, but also encompasses parks, boulevards, and gardens where life unfolds. In the areas of Wong Tai Sin and Lok Fu (formerly known as ‘Lo Fu Ngam’, literally meaning ‘tiger rock’) beneath the Lion Rock, numerous parks, churches, and housing estates bear witness to how these community spaces, transformed by visionary architects, have evolved into modern, liveable environments. Take a walk with William, a photographer with a passion for public housing, and Helen, who researches the history of playgrounds, to appreciate the community memories, design philosophies, and interesting details behind the everyday landscapes.
